We walked out to the gate and waited for our tour guide to come and pick us up. We were going to go to the penguins, but I thought it would be a tour where there were a bunch of people. When our guide came to pick us up, he was in a minivan. It would fit us, but then he realized that we were doing a private tour and not doing a big tour with a bunch of other people. I immediately liked our tour guide because he loved when we asked questions and was open to answering them. We drove for a while, and he said we would stop at a few places before arriving at the penguin spot. We went through this little town and he told us about its history. He told us about the diversity and that in one part there were these little shacks made of wood and in a different part right next to there were super nice and expensive houses. It was interesting to see that they were overlooking each other. He told us the place we wo’uld be stopping at she decided that she wanted to get it, so she purchased it. The seal was adorable, and we got a family photo with it. We all got back in the car and went on o had a seal you oculd pet and hug if you wsnted to. When we pulled up, therere were lots vendors trying to sell you things. It felt good to stretch my legs, and we looked around. KB found this cool satchel that had elephants on it, and she wanted to buy it. It was eight dollars. She decided to think about it and look around a little more. We drove a little longer until we came to this viewing point with only two vendors. It was an excellent spot for pictures because it overlooks Table Mountain. The vendors were selling beaded things, and I liked the elephants. I got one, and mom got a christmas tree. We left there and finally came to the penguins. I have been drinking a lot of water in and really had to go to the restroom, so when we arrived we went straight to the check-in counter and got the tickets. I raced around the corner and went to the restroom. We were going to Boulder Beach, where you got to go in the water and see the penguins up close. You walk through the gate and onto the beach. We had to scramble through some boulders and walk through the freezing cold water. I and KB stayed out of the water as much as we could could by climbing on top of the rocks. We came to the spot where there was a bunch of penguins standing on a rock. I got lots of good photos of them.
They were extreamly cute, but also smelly. We had another penguin viewing spot we wanted to go to where all the baby ones were. We had to do a three minute drive to the next place, and our guide gave us chips and marshmallows. We drove over to eh second place. We had to stay on this board walk, but some of the penguins came close enough to get a good photo of. I thought they were cool, and was glad we had done them. Emmy had stayed home because she had felt sick, so I was sad that she had missed out. Our guide drove us back, and we went to the house. We chilled for the rest of the day, doing bloging and math.
