- Meeting Our Tour Guide
We arrived Block 37, which turned out to ba a mall. We walked into it and went to the spot where we were supposed to meet our tour guild. Me, Emmy, Zeb, KB and Dad were there. Our tour guide walked up and interdicts herself. Her name was Kelly, and she was really nice. She first took us to the bottom level of the mall down the glass elevators, which were cool. then she told us about the Pedway. It was a network of underground tunnels going through the city so when there was a blizzard of really bad weather, you could get around by going under. I thought that this was genius, and that every city should have these. We walked through them until we came up to the main street. There was a big building that was made of metal and a different one on the pother side of the street that looked like a court house. She told us about the one that was made of metal. I
t was the first building that had only four support columns on the outside. It was also made of this special metal that weather proofed itself overtime, so it was perfect for Chicago. Next she told us about the building on the other side of the road.
it was the original City Hall building. It was actually two buildings spilt in the middle. I thought that that was cool. She told us that we were going inside. We went across the street and entered the building. There was this day of the dead thing in one spot.
We walked down some more until we came to a bunch of elevators. There was two sections, the first part was older, and the second part was new. You could tell because the elevators were different styles while still looking similar, and the mosaic thing on the ceiling, in the first part it looked grayer than the second part.
She showed us about the Y’s in the ceiling, and that we should look around for them across the city. At rhea end of the tour, we found a gluten free donut bakery shop. There was also pizza. Both of these food items were delicious. Over all, this day was perfect.
