We had taken off early in the morning to do a 7 hour drive to Knoxville Tennessee. That was our first stop. We would stay there one night and then continue on to Chicago. The hotel we were staying in was called Embassy Suits, By Hilton. It was a really cool hotel, with a great taco place inside for dinner and a great buffet for breakfast. My mom was doing calls the whole day, so once us kids were settled in, I went out to busk in the square next to the hotel. Busking is basically where you go out onto the street and play and instrument to earn money. My sister Emmy came with me.
Attempting to Busk in Tennessee
We walked around the corner and up until we came to the square. There were a bunch of police cars, and I thought that that was wierd. I saw that they were arresting a homeless man. I didn’t know if we should still busk, but Emmy said it would be okay so I still went. I set up my case on the steps and started playing. I was a little nervous at first, but soon I was okay. But ten minutes in a guy with a guitar came in and sat thirty feet away from me and started playing his guitar while singing. I gave up and went back to the hotel.
Later in the day when all of our school work was done we went to see a movie. The theater was literally right across the street, which was really nice. We were going to see the only kid friendly movie. Lyle, Lyle, Crocidile. The theater was named Regal Rivera. I wont tell the whole thing, but it is about a singing Crocidile that is misunderstood.
We did not have to wake up early the next morning, but we had to be packed and at the car by nine AM. I got up at eight thirty and packed my bags, and then went down to breakfast. When everyone was done we got in the car for the 10 hour drive to Chicago. Where we would be staying at the Fairmont.
